How to Join the Canadian Science Writers' AssociationEn Francais

Are You...

  • a journalist or public information specialist interested in the environment, health and medical issues, the social sciences, technology, science policy or other science-related areas?
  • a scientist interested in communicating with the public?
  • a journalism teacher or student wanting to know more about science writing?
  • concerned about the impact of science and technology on society and wanting to keep up to date in these fields?
  • needing fast access to Canadian science and technology experts?
  • interested in meeting other science journalists?
  • searching for story ideas, or a chance to improve your skill?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, join the Canadian Science Writers' Association! There are two membership categories, "Regular" and "Student/International":

  • Regular Membership is open to anyone interested in science and technology communication in Canada including professional writers or editors of science-related material for newspapers, magazines, science journals, radio or television, public information officers, teachers of science writing or editing and other professionals interested in fostering improved science communication. Fee: $75 ($35 if you live outside Canada)
  • Student Membership/International Membership (outside Canada) is open to bona fide full-time students of any educational institution and members living outside of Canada. Fee: $35
