2:40 – 3:30 Guy Narbonne, "Earth's earliest animals: The Mistaken Point fossils of Newfoundland".

Guy Narbonne is a Professor and Research Chair in paleontology at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He is best known for his work on the origin and early evolution of animals and their ecosystems. Prof. Narbonne will speak to us on the world-famous fossil sites at Mistaken Point in southern Newfoundland and will run a field trip to these sites on Tuesday, June 27th.

Mistaken Point is famous as the oldest and perhaps most spectacular assemblage of Ediacaran (late Precambrian) animal fossils anywhere in the world.
