Science In Society Book Award winners announced
Toronto,
May 1, 2006 -- The Canadian Science Writers' Association/ Association
canadienne des rédacteurs scientifiques is pleased to announce
the winners of the national 2005 Science in Society Book awards
competition.
2005
Children's Book Winner:
"Backyard
Birds", by Robert Bateman with Ian Coutts. Published by Scholastic
Canada Ltd.
2005
Youth Book Winner:
"Sensational
Scientists", by Barry Shell. Published by Raincoast Books.
2005
General Audience Winner:
"The
Drug Trial", by Miriam Shuchman. Published by Random House
Canada.
Each
winner will receive or share a $1,000 cash prize at a gala awards
banquet Saturday evening, June 24, 2006, in St. John's, Newfoundland,
